Governor's Community Impact Award
Presented by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in recognition of sustained community impact work in northern Michigan. The award recognized Mike's contributions to Toys for Tots of Northwest Michigan, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Boy Scouts of America, and his role as co-founder of the T.C. Patriot Game, an annual event in Traverse City honoring veterans and active military.

Traverse City Patriot Game
Co-founder of the Traverse City Patriot Game, an annual tradition that honors veterans, active duty military, and first responders. Over the years, tens of thousands of dollars have supported a variety of local veteran organizations. The event mobilized student leaders and built respect for those who serve our country and our communities.
Children & Youth
Toys for Tots of Northwest Michigan
Long-term campaign involvement spanning Antrim, Benzie, Kalkaska, Leelanau, and Grand Traverse Counties. Campaigns have distributed tens of thousands of toys to children across the region. Toys for Tots of Northwest Michigan has been recognized by the Toys for Tots Foundation as one of the top campaigns in the country.

Big Brothers Big Sisters
Active involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan, supporting mentoring programs that match young people with adult volunteers.
Community Outreach
Community Pride
Over the years, Mike has created campaigns to support food banks, indigent health care, help for the incarcerated, those dealing with dyslexia, literacy programs, the Salvation Army, and suicide prevention.
