Big Brothers Big Sisters – Bowl For Kid’s Sake

Bowl For Kid’s Sake became the largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Michigan. The event was catapulted into the public spotlight when two car dealers when head-to-head to compete with fundraising. This TV ad played a critical role for the success of the campaign. Mike Kent was writer and producer of the ad.

Out of the Darkness – suicide prevention fundraising walk

The Traverse City suicide prevention walk become one of the most successful initial fundraiser walks in the country. The first-time event raised over $100,000 and had more than 1,000 participants. It helped increase awareness of depression and other mental health issues. Mike Kent was the producer and writer of the TV ad. A similar ad was produced for radio, newspaper and digital.

Kampout for KAIR – food drive

Kampout for KAIR was created by Mike as a 24-hour food drive to support a food pantry in Kalkaska. He worked with local food stores to get them to stay open around the clock and developed radio and TV sponsors that went live at the event. The food drive annually collects 10-tons of food or more for families in need. Mike was the writer and producer of television, radio and print ads.

Running For Babies – 5k

The neonatal unit at Munson Medical Center received public support and contributions with a highly successful fundraising run. This effort was started with two families with a passion to save babies and grew to a huge community event. Mike was writer and producer of the TV ad.

Jobs for Vets

A collaboration between area businesses, Veteran groups and Michigan Works successfully matched Veteran skills with the needs of northern Michigan businesses. Mike was writer and producer of the TV ad.

Bikes For Tikes & Toys For Tots

Thousands of northern Michigan children received the best possible gift at Christmas thanks to the Bikes for Tikes program. The bikes are distributed through Toys for Tots. Mike was the writer and producer of the TV ad.

To support Toys for Tots, Bill Marsh helped to promote a local effort to get bike donations for kids in need. Thousands of bikes have been donated since the campaign began. Mike produced support material and conducted media interviews for the campaign.
The kick off of Toys for Tots has become a huge community event that fills the Great Wolf Lodge and has Santa arrive on a Coast Guard helicopter. Mike Kent has helped coordinate and promote the event.
